Which hotels in Milan have the best pools? If you travel as a family with kids or as a couple looking for a great spa and a swim, a hotel with a pool is a huge advantage. Because the weather is warm for much of the year in Milan, both indoor and outdoor pools would be appealing, but in Milan city, the hotels we have reviewed below mainly have indoor pools.
You may or may not know that if you book any luxury hotel in Milan, including the Four Seasons and Bulgari, which are detailed below, using an official Preferred Partner agent like our luxury travel concierge, you will get two free breakfasts along with other fantastic benefits such as a delicious welcome gift, a prioritized room upgrade (subject to availability) and $100 resort credit.
For those of you who travel in luxury, we have outlined your very best hotels with pools in Milan below:
1. Best Hotel Pool: Palazzo Parigi
Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa Milan (or Milano) is just a few steps from the Haute fashion district in Milan and the bohemian Brera area. The lobby here is probably the grandest in Milan. This enormous marble hallway, complete with pillars and a curved marble staircase, does indeed feel palatial, and the beautiful flower arrangements adorning every surface reflect the elegance and refinement this luxury hotel provides. Beyond the grandeur, the reasons to stay here are its location, the glorious views many of the suites share over Milan, and the best and largest spa in Milan with the best and largest luxury hotel pool in Milan (pictured above).
At 1,700 m², this is the largest Spa in Milan. The Spa offers numerous treatment rooms, and with the exception of the candlelit corridors, the whole wellness area is bathed in natural light.
The pool here is large by Milanese standards, with big windows and luxuriously padded loungers flanking each side. Beyond the pool is a jacuzzi, a steam room, a sauna, and a shower next to an ice machine so you can shock your body into wellness.
2. Four Seasons Milan
Four Seasons Milan (or Four Seasons Hotel Milano) is housed in a former 15th-century convent that is situated up a tiny side street in the heart of Milan. It oozes glamour and sophistication with a stylish bar, a restaurant that spills out onto an enviably green and flower-filled courtyard, and an impressive spa hidden in the historic depths of the convent’s cellar.
The spa is excellent, nonetheless. Created by Spanish designer and architect Patricia Urquiola, you will find a most unusual and warm pool in the convent’s former cellar. This pool is reached via steps between thick pillars, and you swim in its warm waters under 19th-century vaulted ceilings. While this pool is not large, it is the most atmospheric in Milan.
There are luxurious changing rooms, a steam room, mood showers, and numerous treatment rooms, including a his and hers massage room with a relaxation lounge containing a jetted tub and fireplace, all set in what feels like a tomb in an ancient pyramid.
The cellar location of this spa is unique and shouldn’t be missed, even if you only pop down to the pool. There are specific childrens’ times at this pool. We used it during family time between 2:30 and 4:45 pm. There is also a high-tech gym with loads of equipment down in the depths of the hotel.
3. Bulgari Hotel Milan
Bulgari Hotel Milan (or Bulgari Hotel Milano) is one of Milan’s smallest and most boutique luxury hotels. It is situated up an ultra-exclusive private street in central Milan, complete with 24/7 security guards and gates. Once inside this wealthy neighborhood, you take a left turn and head up a short driveway to reach Bulgari Hotel Milano.
I don’t think Spa pools get more sparkly than the Spa pool at Bulgari Hotel Milan. The tiles on the stairs of the pool are made of pure gold, and the mosaic tiling in the rest of the pool also sparkles like jewels. This is a serene and luxurious place to relax on a comfy lounger.
4. Mandarin Oriental Milan
Mandarin Oriental Milan has a 900 m² Spa that features six treatment rooms, a hair salon, a fitness center and an atmospheric underground pool which is partially lit by candles. The pool has loungers flanking one side and is surrounded by fringe-style blinds on two sides. It is a very relaxing and sophisticated area to relax.
5. Park Hyatt Milan
Park Hyatt Milan has AQVAM SPA powered by Beautick, the serene urban retreat at Park Hyatt Milano. An oasis of pure relaxation in the heart of the city, this spa offers an exclusive space for both body and mind rejuvenation. Unfortunately, there is no pool at the Park Hyatt Milan.
6. Grand Hotel Tremezzo
Grand Hotel Tremezzo is a couple of hours drive from Milan and is one of the best luxury hotels on the banks of Lake Como. Certainly, if you are looking for picture-perfect outdoor pools, this is the place to stay. It has the most fantastic views imaginable from its rooms, bars, and restaurants, along with a wonderful pool that floats directly on the lake. Banana trees and flowers surround an additional pool behind the hotel, and an excellent Spa, with those same fantastic views across the waterfront, offers another fun jacuzzi-style Spa pool.
This hotel is all about the views and the pools; there were three lovely pools here. There’s a floating waterfront pool in front of the hotel with a beach club that serves lunch and drinks. For relaxing, a strip of sand on the lakeside is packed with loungers meticulously placed to take in the best views.
Behind the hotel is a pool surrounded by banana trees, flowers, and a cafe. This pool also had lovely views of the lake as it is elevated into the mountain and sits above the lake.
The final pool is the Spa pool, which is saved mainly for adults. It is located underneath the bar, with loungers looking at the view and a small indoor swimming area and outdoor jacuzzi.
