Bali is renowned for its luxurious resorts that offer exceptional dining experiences. Here are ten top luxury resorts in Bali celebrated for their culinary offerings:
1. Hotel Tugu Bali
IWA Restaurant can be found within Hotel Tugu Bali in Canggu and offers an immersive culinary journey through the Indonesian archipelago. The restaurant showcases an extensive menu of authentic Indonesian dishes crafted from traditional recipes with a contemporary approach.
The name “IWA” is inspired by the Balinese legend of Kebo Iwa, a 12th-century giant known for his immense appetite and strength. This connection reflects the restaurant’s dedication to celebrating Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.
Housed within the majestic Bale Agung, a 15-meter tall classic Balinese hall adorned with intricate carvings, IWA provides a breathtaking dining ambiance. The hotel’s extensive collection of Indonesian artwork further enriches the setting, creating a tranquil and culturally immersive atmosphere.
Diners are invited to partake in “A Culinary Journey throughout the Indonesian Archipelago,” experiencing the diverse flavors and culinary traditions from various regions of Indonesia. The menu features a variety of dishes, including the traditional “rijsttafel,” a Dutch-influenced “rice table” comprising steamed rice accompanied by an array of spicy side dishes.
IWA Restaurant also hosts cultural evenings featuring traditional Balinese music and dance performances, offering guests an enchanting glimpse into the island’s rich artistic traditions.
Beyond IWA Restaurant is the unmissable Kawisari Coffee Farm Shop & Eatery Bali, next to Hotel Tugu Bali on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong in Canggu. This cafe provides a charming retreat for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts. They serve freshly brewed coffee sourced from one of Java’s oldest and largest organic plantations, including the traditional Javanese Kopi Tubruk.
The cafe menu draws inspiration from authentic village recipes, offering all-day breakfast, brunch, and delightful tea-time snacks, with choices to accommodate various dietary needs. Visitors can also browse a range of organic pantry essentials, such as jams, spreads, and honey, all ethically produced at their plantation. With its inviting atmosphere, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating, the venue is perfect for casual gatherings, productive work sessions, or simply enjoying a relaxed afternoon.
