The Ritz-Carlton is one of the best luxury hotels in Bali and is situated in the heart of Nusa Dua, which is ideally placed to enjoy the nearby Jimbaran Bay, Pecatu, and Uluwatu area, as well as cultural sites, including Jatiluwih and Ubud.
This island paradise location is peaceful, ideal for honeymooners, and far from the party areas of Seminyak and Ubud. It offers a breathtaking beachfront and cliffside setting, an oasis of tranquility where guests can immerse themselves in the beauty of the Indian Ocean.
Location
The Ritz-Carlton, Bali is located 45 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport and is just minutes away from the Jimbaran Bay, Pecatu, and Uluwatu area, as well as cultural sites, including Jatiluwih and Ubud.
Overlooking the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, the resort is enveloped by the natural beauty of Bali’s lush volcanic mountains, verdant rice paddies, and golden beaches. Guests are only a short drive from some of Bali’s most revered cultural and spiritual landmarks, including the iconic Uluwatu Temple, where the traditional Kecak dance is performed at sunset. The resort’s proximity to the International Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) area ensures convenient access to high-end shopping, dining, and entertainment options while providing a serene retreat away from the bustle.

Style & Character
This unique, luxurious, and locally-inspired resort is located in Sawangan, Nusa Dua, and is set on 12.7 hectares of expansive and beautifully manicured beachfront and cliff-top land. The resort’s architecture and design pay homage to Bali’s heritage, with intricate wood carvings, locally inspired décor, and open-air spaces that capture the essence of island living.
The check-in area has traditional tiled floors and a hugely high Balinese-style roof supported by wooden beams and columns. At one end, it offers incredible views spanning the seafront’s breadth and the horizon beyond.
The grounds are a sprawling mishmash of pretty zen ponds with lillipads and goldfish swimming underneath, decked areas, little bridges, and beautifully manicured windy pathways. The grounds are so expansive that the hotel provides a 24-hour buggy service to get between your room, the pool, the beach, and the restaurants.
Every detail, from the grand entrance to the tranquil gardens and water features, reflects the spiritual and artistic traditions of the region. The presence of a glass-enclosed wedding chapel set against the backdrop of the ocean is luxurious, but its style, as with much of the resort, connects to the island’s cultural roots.

Service & Facilities
Of its many memorable features, the 180-degree unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean are undeniably a highlight, ensuring unmatched views of the lush landscape and exquisite scenery.
A state-of-the-art fitness center, multiple swimming pools—including a hydro, vital pool and a Balinese bathing pool, and a dedicated yoga studio offer ample opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Guests can also participate in various cultural experiences, from sunrise yoga to guided excursions that explore Bali’s local traditions and spiritual rituals.
The main swimming pool is a stunning infinity pool right by the beach and surrounded by palm trees. This pool is so close to the beach that the beach loungers, which sit on the sand, flank the beachside end of the pool. Shaded daybeds and cabanas are scattered around the gardens, pool, and beach if you want to laze in the shade.

Beach loungers, which are shaded by parasols, are set up on the tiered or stepped beach area that has little stone steps to connect each level of beach. And the beach is perfect with snow white sand and swimable waters. This has to be one of the best beaches on Bali.
A stunning oceanfront wedding chapel makes the property the venue of choice for island weddings, while meeting facilities for up to 200 guests provide for an endless variety of corporate and private events.
The Ritz Kids program provides an engaging and educational experience for younger guests, while adults can indulge in the serene, marine-inspired spa that incorporates natural elements like seaweed and pearls into its treatments. The spa will consist of 14 serene treatment rooms seamlessly incorporating indoor and outdoor spaces, surrounded by lush foliage.

Rooms
Even the smallest room at The Ritz-Carlton Bali, the Junior Suite is 100 m², so even if you book the standard “room,” you will be spoiled for space. There are 313 hotel rooms in total, including 34 cliff-top and ocean-view villas with dramatic views along the sweeping coastline of Nusa Dua’s southern tip.
All rooms and suites feature spacious layouts, Balinese-inspired interiors with creamy tiled floors and pine furnishings, and private outdoor spaces with garden views. It’s worth splurging on an ocean-view room here. The base rooms have garden views, which are pleasant but not noteworthy. You can simply see a bunch of green palm tree fronds.

Colourful purple, rust orange, and mint green cushions and detailing add charm and color to the decor, and larger suites are designed more like little apartments with separate sitting, dining, and kitchen areas.
The resort’s collection of villas elevates the experience further, featuring private pools, lush gardens, and sweeping ocean views. Pavilion villas are a great choice. Coming in at 120 m², they have their own private pool, a cream and mint green seating area in front of the bed, and your own semi-private pool surrounded by greenery just outside your sliding glass door. The bathroom in these rooms opens up to the secluded pool area and has a semi-outdoor shower so that you can get out of the pool and into the bathroom without soaking the master bedroom area.

The pool in the Pavilion villas takes up most of your outdoor space, and a decked area to the bedroom side of the pool offers an outside sitting area with padded seats and a table. This pool is of a decent size, but it is shared with the villa next door. Book the Garden Villa for your own private pool.
The bathrooms at this hotel are particularly noteworthy as they are so spacious. Many have a huge free-standing tub, and all have double sinks, separate bath, shower, and a Toto bidet toilet area. Toiletries by Asprey.

Food & Drink
Led by a highly skilled culinary team, The Ritz-Carlton, Bali, features six restaurants and lounges. These offer an authentic gastronomic journey, combining the finest local ingredients with international influences.
Bejana, the resort’s signature Indonesian restaurant, serves an authentic selection of traditional dishes, while the Culinary Cave offers guests a unique opportunity to explore Balinese cooking techniques. The Beach Grill, an oceanfront venue, specializes in fresh seafood and premium meats, served with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. For a Mediterranean twist, the Missoni Resort Club presents a fusion of vibrant flavors, infused with the elegance of the renowned Italian fashion house.
The Ritz-Carlton Lounge & Bar provides an elegant setting for afternoon tea and evening cocktails. At the same time, the resort’s private dining experiences—such as romantic beach dinners and glamping family barbecues—offer intimate culinary moments tailored to special occasions.

Senses Restaurant offers an extensive international breakfast buffet featuring a wide array of cuisines, including Indonesian, Japanese, and Western specialties. This breakfast, which is one of the complimentary benefits of booking via our concierge, should not be missed. The buffet is vast and served from 7:00 am – 10:00 am. It has multiple live cooking stations, a huge selection of food, and staff standing behind all the counters to help you with your choices.
There are cold meats and cheeses, whole and cut fruit, chopped salad and veggies, your usual hot food like sausages, bacon, and egg, and fresh juices, coffees, and teas. A brilliant Asian noodle station enables a chef to cook you up a local noodle dish, and there are many more Asian food tables with unfamiliar Asian food and big Woks of food. There’s also an egg station chef who will cook you an egg as you like it or an omelette, and there is a sweet area with lovely muffins, donuts, croissants and other pasties, and sweet, yummy cakey things.

Conclusion
The Ritz-Carlton Bali is both stunning and secluded. It’s the perfect paradise escape. The pool is gorgeous, the beach is white sand and swimable, and the rooms are generously proportioned. This resort is simply fantastic.
Be careful which room you book as some plunge pool rooms share their pool with the next villa, and some don’t. Book with one of our luxury travel concierge agents for advice on which room would be best for you.
